Hello to all our PGL readers! Have you missed us? We are back and ready to continue on our ridiculous journey with you. Sorry we have been M.I.A. the last week and a half. Jayme, Sarah and I took a little vacay to the South Carolina shore…Hilton Head to be exact. Synopsis of our trip: beach, sleep, food, beer, nap, Olympics, CocoNutz Bar, karaoke, sleep, beer, food, beach, Olympics. You’re thinking success, aren’t you? Exactly.
Now that we are back, I have some pretty exciting news to announce….my sister, Heather, is engaged! Crazy! I’ve mentioned her on a few blogs before so you may remember her name and how much I cherish our relationship. Her boyfriend…now fiancé…is her perfect match in every way and I can’t wait to celebrate their news with them.
When I got back from vacation I decided to have lunch with my mom since I hadn’t seen her in a while. I was so excited to tell her all about my trip and literally after about 10 minutes of me talking about our little adventure, she interrupts me and says she’s been dying to tell me something all week and that she can’t wait any longer (clearly she was not listening to me and I’m not even sure she knows where I went for vacation).
Anyway, she explains that Chris (the fiancée) asked my dad’s permission to propose about a week ago and that an engagement would happen soon. I had no idea that the next day was what she meant by soon!
After my mom and dad congratulated the two it was my turn for the official news. I cried like a baby, and the only word I could think of was “weird.” But an extremely good weird. I mean, Heather and I have talked about this day for years and what it would be like and if either one of us would actually get married. It’s something that has literally been a topic of conversation for so long and now it was actually happening to one of us….weird!
Chris then gets on the phone and asks, “you want to hear something really weird?…..SISTER-IN-LAW!” Ha! SO WERID! But again, it’s a good weird. I have no idea about what their plans are for an official date but sometime in the near future I will have an older brother to go along with my already spectacular younger brother. Two brothers and a sister and I’m smack dab in the middle…I. Am. Blessed.
Congratulations to Heather and Chris. To Heather – it’s finally happening. So excited for you. To Chris – seriously, nice job on the ring. Welcome to the family.
